Some of the most common English-Turkish mistakes that English speakers make: The reasons why

- English speakers instinctively want to add in "see you in the morning."
- But adding that extra "see you in the morning." to see you later "is not natural Turkish"

- You were taught that "için" in Turkish means "for" in English

- "For" in English & Turkish does not always have the same nuances
- Don't insert English double meaning words into every Turkish sentence

- "Without a stain on your character " is an English set phrase
- In English you can put this into any sentence you want
- In Turkish you must be precise about the surrounding context and tone
- Be careful about literal one to one unnatural sounding Turkish Sentences.
- That are always derived by adding English word one after the after .
- If yoi look up Turkish words from English and put then together side by side.
- Like you do in English you end up with Turkish nonsense .
- You may leave this courtroom without a stain (blemish) on your character
- Bu mahkemeden, şahsiyetinize veya itibarınıza halel gelmeksizin ayrılabilirsiniz.
- These set phrases carry with them much more than just the two or three words
- They carry expressions of togetherness and social friendliness
- Hosça kal To say goodbye means stay warm and friendly
- Kolay gelsin Say to anyone doing work regardless of type of work
- Rica Ederim Pronounce similar to Rija ederim: Your are welcome
- Sonra Görüşürüz See you later
- There is no need to attempt to add extra English style embellshments to these phrases
